Question Why does my Samsung Note9 ringtone turn off automatically?

I am mindful to avoid touching the volume button, but the ringtone still shuts off. I learned that my phone is out of date, but I can't afford a new one. I don't use social media.

Welcome to Android Central! Can you clarify what you mean when you say it turns off automatically? Do you mean that it stops ringing even though an incoming call is still waiting to be picked up (as suggested by winmod21), or do you mean that at some point, the ringtone no longer sounds whenever someone calls?

Are you using one of the stock ringtones, or a custom one?
