Why does my Samsung S9+ delete photos that i take while my phone is locked?

So it's been a bit up in the air but over the last 6months+ that I've owned this phone, any photos I've taken from my lock screen just disappear from my phone's gallery showing up as "cannot display photo" and they promptly disappear from my phone.

This is incredibly upsetting, I've lost a lot of photos that mean a lot to me because of this...

Welcome to Android Central! Are the photos being saved to Internal Storage or to an SD card? If the latter, see if it still happens if you change the default save location to Internal Storage.
