why does my t-mobile BLU device says E

Where it suppose to say 4g it says E and moves very slowly . I don't understand. I am in the Newark area . WHat can I do to fix this

Sounds like you're in a 2G hole -- the "E" signifies you're on slow-speed Edge data. Where else have you tried using your phone? And is there any chance you've exceeded your high-speed data allotment and are being throttled?
