Why does my wifi not load apps like YouTube and Facebook properly??

[AC Question]

I recently upgraded my Samsung a5 to marshmallow from lollipop.
Before the update wifi was working fine but after updating all hell broke loose. Wifi couldnt load any subscription on YouTube app.Facebook feed wont update. Also google play doesn't work.

But the browser is working just fine.
What i tried doing -
1. Clearing the device cache

2.rebooting modem (works sometime for around an hour and then reverts back to the same )

3.Restarting device
I have been very annoyed by this.
What to do??

So things work fine on mobile data? How about other wi-fi networks besides your home network? Try logging into your router settings (via your computer browser--see your router manual for instructions) and disable IPv6.

It works fine on mobile data, just the wifi thats giving problems and my laptop's broke and even if it wasnt i dont remember the default ip address to configure router

Have you tried other wi-fi networks, like at your local library or coffee shop?

The default IP address is often on a sticker on the back or bottom of the router, along with the default username and password. If you never modified them, then they should still be valid. Or you may be able to find that information in the router's manual--search for the model number online.
