Why does my xperia z3 not receive messages in full?

[AC Question]

Okay so on my xperia z3 I recieve messages weird and they're usually not in full. For example someone will send me a message and I recieve it like this "ԀͪȂday but the mornings". But on their phone its a full longer text, (ive noticed it happens most with iphones but it does it with other phones as well) Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or how I can change it?? Its really irritating especially when the texts are important! Help!

Welcome to Android Central! Did you used to have an iPhone? If so, are you sure you completely deactivated your iMessage account prior to switching to Android?

This happens to mine as well and I've never had an iPhone. I try to delete old messages every so often because I was thinking it's a storage issue, but would love to hear a fix.
