Coming from a Storm myself I can say that the X does get much hotter than the Storm did. But it's for the reason mentioned above, there's a lot more computer horsepower in there to suck down the juice - not to mention the big screen and associated backlight. The case is also likely designed to get hot, it acts like a heatsink to draw the heat away from the chips and into the surrounding air (and any stray hands that get in the way). The Storm doesn't use as much power therefore it doesn't dissipate as much heat and the heat can be trapped inside to radiate out more naturally and evenly. Unless your X is getting too hot to hold I wouldn't worry about it.
