Why does recovery mode just light up then fades?

recovery mode just lights up then fades?

i have a lenovo P770 and it is rooted. when i try going to recovery mode to install a new zip file it just lights up then the light fades. im installing a new rom because the custom rom i downloaded, hangs whenever i turn my phone on. help?

Make sure the battery is fully charged and the charger is plugged in when you try. A weak battery can cause the screen to come up, then fade out.
