Why does Samsung 303 3g suddenly shut down

when my chromebook 303 3G battery is on approx 30% charge, it powers off for no apparent reason and won't restart until charger is plugged in. Does anyone know why this might be and a fix please?

It sounds like the battery isn't calibrated right -- it thinks it is at 30% but it is really at 0%.
