Why does "Select a Home App" keep appearing when I press home?

[Android Central Question]

For the past day or so, whenever I press the home button, "Select a Home App" pops up. I click on Lawnchair like I've been using for months and click always. Next time I click home, it pops up again. I tried uninstalling it and even then, it still happens. It's incredibly annoying, how would I fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! When it asks you to select a home app, do you also see an option to tap "Just Once" or "Always"?
