Why does the airplane mode keep turning on on my Android phone?

I NEVER use the airplane mode, yet it keeps turning on and I can't receive calls. How do I put a stop to this?

Welcome to Android Central! Are you sure you're not accidentally swiping down the Quick Settings and tapping Airplane Mode? Does this also happen in Safe Mode?

I think everytime you restarting the phone in safe mode it automatically turn on, otherwise you might have some other apps that cause that to happen.
