Why does the application doesnt work after transferring on SD card? J2 Prime user

I transferred "messenger" to my SD card after downloading it but suddenly it doesnt work.

Welcome to Android Central. How did you transfer Messenger? I don't think the Messenger app can work on an SD. That is the SMS app, correct?
