Why does the Google Now Launcher have opaque buttons, and how do I fix it?

Hello!
So a few months ago, I was using my phone (Xperia Z2) with the Google Now Launcher, and suddenly, the buttons and stays bar went opaque. Is there a fix for this? I posted a screen shot. Thanks in advance!

Are you sure that didn't happen after an update to the launcher? My Nexus 6P on the Google Now launcher also has an opaque navigation button area and notification/status bar.
