Why Does the SCHEDULED Software Update Only Sometimes Work?

Android Central Question

This has been going on for years for me, over several different Samsung Galaxy phones. I currently have the Galaxy Ultra 22.

When a software update comes in, I always schedule it for 2 am. I have to use my phone for work, so I don't want it installing in the mornings/middle of the day and wasting battery. I always forget in the evenings. So I like this SCHEDULED update option of 2 am. I am not using my phone then and my phone is charging.

However, this option rarely works. Maybe 1 out of 10 times. I usually wake up in the morning with the Software Update still there, saying it will automatically install in 30 minutes. I just don't understand what is going on with that. Why is there an option to schedule it when it doesn't work?

Please don't answer with "It doesn't take that long, so do it when the phone wants" crap. I'm not asking about that, I want to know why the feature they have offered for years (and used to work) doesn't work anymore. Like mentioned before, it SOMETIMES works still, randomly. So I don't believe this is any particular setting I have.
