Why does the speaker keep turning off while I am using the speakerphone in a call?

I have a Galaxy Note 9 and when I make a call with my speakerphone, the speaker keeps turning off while I am on a call. This is very annoying when the screen goes black in seconds and I cannot monitor the speaker status.

The speaker phone turns off at the same time the screen turns off?
