Here's their other reply. Shows iPhone but I stated I'm on Android to them...it's probably the same or close enough.

It shouldn't close, seems like crash, if it's happens again please send us log files (make sure to be in debug mode first).
Without the log files (using DEBUG MODE) we can't locate and fix your problem.

How to turn on Debug Mode
Go to Navigate >> search for 2##2 (to enter to debug mode):
Restart your phone, now reproduce the issue and send us the log files:
To send log files, open the Menu >> Settings >> and choose Help:
Choose Send Logs:
Click Yes to send us the logs:
(Android and Jailbroken iPhones with iFile or ssh access):
Another way to send us logs is to connect the device to your PC, locate Waze folder and send us the files:
waze_log.txtAndroid.plcrashgps_csv
After sending the logs, please email us with your user name, the date and time when the logs were sent (click here to email us).
(To turn off debug mode search again for 2##2).
