music downloaded from Google Play doesn't appear in 3rd party music player eg. double twist

Use to download music for free with 'those apps' eg. Simple MP3 Pro. Then downloaded from Google Play and now it does not show up in a 3rd party music player like double twist. I have downloaded about 50 songs from YouTube using YouTube to Mp3 on the computer as these songs cannot be downloaded from Google Play (e-dubble freestyle Friday) and put it on a USB and then transferred it to my phone via a USB to micro USB cable. These songs appear in the music player. Can someone please tell me how to get my music from Google Play to register in a 3rd party music player! Using Moto G 2nd Gen non-root

Welcome to Android Central! Songs downloaded directly from the Google Play Music app aren't accessible by 3rd party music apps, because the music files are stored in hidden folders with coded filenames. The purpose of downloading a song from Play Music is for offline listening using the same app.

What you need to do is go to your Google Play Music library on your computer browser, and download the music there. Then transfer those music files over to the phone via USB.

Yeah, it's a bit of hassle. I look at it as a method of discouraging music piracy. It makes it just a little harder to download music freely and share it with others.
