Why doesn't my battery charger fit my HTC phone very well?

Why doesn't my battery charger fit my HTC phone very well.

i have a HTC One mini, and the battery charger that was supplied with the phone now doesn't push into the usb slot very well.
It sort of fits half way in, which is enough to charge it, but its very loose.

Welcome to Android Central! The pins might have gotten bent at some point. Or there might be some debris caught in the port--look carefully with a flashlight, and use a can of compressed air to blow it out.
