Why doesn't my device show the camera pics when connected to PC ?

I have micromax canvas A1 (Android One) device. whenever I connect it to my PC in PTP mode or in MTM mode I can't find the pics that exist in my gallery. I see the DCIM folder but there are no pictures int it except for facebook pics and my screen wallpaper. I use a gallery app.In my phone, I have all the pics but when I connect the phone to PC i just can't find and picture. Please help.

Im pretty sure you dont have access to anything on your external memory(sometimes maybe internal aswell) when you have your phone plugged in to a PC

But why would you want to view them when you have it connected to your PC?
You can just view them on the PC, or perhaps you are just charging it that way and dont intend to use the PC at all?

Are you using the default camera? Or a third-party camera app?

Most third-party apps store photos/videos in their own folder. Camera Zoom FX, for example, stores images in a folder called "CameraZoom"
