Why doesn't my LG G4 dial a number with pause and input confID 123-987-1234,,,12345?

I am on a team that receives RED alerts to our phones. On my iPhone I just click on the conference call number,pauses,conferenceID and it knows to dial the number from the text message pause for each comma ',' and input the conference ID.

All the LG G4 does is dial the number. I have to respond and get on these calls quickly and thought the android was for professional use. It was not years ago so I went back to iPhone but all indications in 2015 were it was finally a real smart phone.

Is there a way to make the phone smarter so it works like the other smart phone ?

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried replacing the commas with P's?

Most Android phones will work with a pause, no idea why it's not for you. Looking back it appears to be a common issue with the LG dialer all the way back to the G2

If you can't get it to work with the LG dialer, you can find a replacement dialer in the play store which should work better with pauses

Go to contacts and enter a phone number. When the dial pad comes up select the *# button. This will bring up dial pad with pause and wait options.

You can also put a # in the number and it will pop up a window for you to choose when to send the password.

I do not intend to dial.

I receive SMS text messages from a Global Response Center to dial into a RED TEAM call immediately.

The number appears in text but ONLY the phone number is click-to-dial highlighted. The pauses, the Conference ID that is also sent is not clickable.

The entire string was clickable on the iPhone for years.

I know this isn't optimal but a short term workaround would be to copy the number with the pauses etc that aren't highlighted and manually paste it into your dialer ( would add an extra 3 seconds). I feel like there should be a way to make the pauses clickable to enter the dialer and I believe it's message app dependent in terms of what is clickable

I share your frustration. This worked fine on my Samsung s3. I found an app called conference call dialer. It mostly works for calendar events but I haven't found an option for the, text problem.

I Have had LG "dumbphones for many years and now have the G4. Why I didn't switch Ito Samsung I'll never know!
Well anyway, On my LG Attune (dumbphone) pauses didn't work but waits were recognized. I had to push a button each time to release the wait but that was better than entering the 20+ numbers needed with my phone banking! But... on my supposed "Smart"phone neither pause nor wait iare recognized!
After the dialed number connects, a box pops up asking if it should enter the rest of the numbers. If I tap yes it immediately dials EVERY SINGLE NUMBER ENTERED IGNORING any further pauses or waits. LG NEEDS TO FIX THIS!

Go into Edit in your contact.
After you enter the basic number using the number pad, click on the second button in the right column " ,-(". It will open another pad with P=Pause and W=Wait. that works.

Don't work on mine, same as everyone else in this thread, that just enters the same symbols as any other keyboard does.
