Samsung Gear 2 Neo does not give a notification with alarm function

I am trying to get set up where my Samsung Gear 2 Neo vibrates and allows me to shut off (like my gearfit did) when the alarm on my Galaxy S5 goes off. I've made sure through the gear manager that clock is checked in notifications and have gone through every possible combination of checking off "limit notifications" and "keep screen off" but the Gear 2 Neo still doesn't do anything when my clock alarm goes off on the galaxy. This was one of my favorite functions on the gear fit, as it allowed me to easily turn off the alarm without trying to find my phone on the charger on the night stand.

My Neo allows me to shut off the alarm on my Note 4. I have the Neo set on vibrate instead of sound, if that makes a difference.
