Screen does not turn on when it is hot

Hello everyone,
My Samsung gt-i9500 (S4)'s screen gets hot very quick (15 seconds!) in normal usage, such as texting or web browsing. I can use the phone when it is hot, but it does not turn on again after locking it, until it gets cold again (sometimes i put in the freezer for quick access). Is this a hardware or software fault?
Oh, an also i cannot adjust light intensity WHEN the 1 pixel height row at the bottom shows at the top, 1st row. It is another interesting issue which may help in diagnosis.
Thanks for the assist.

Re: Screen does not turn on when it is hot

Welcome to Android Central! It's more likely something on the motherboard or the battery that's getting hot, not the screen. Try a new or different battery. Also, if you have a microSD card inserted, try unmounting it (in Settings>Storage) and removing it, in case it's corrupt.
