Why don't I recieve texts after I unblock someone?

I blocked someone my Samsung Galaxy 6. I unblocked him 2 weeks later and sent a message. He got the message but when he responded I never got the message and am still unable to see any messages from him. I tried to redo the block and unblock again and still no luck. What do I do?
