I removed my primary account from my Galaxy s8 temporarily, then restored it. My contacts list now shows 48 contacts. If I do Settings->Google->Restore contacts it shows me I have 567 contacts but the restore just gives me the same 48.
Can't sync contacts as Contacts has disappeared from my sync list (Settings->Accounts and backup->Accounts->my.gmail.account@gmail.com-.Sync account->Sync list). Disconnecting the account and reconnecting it doesn't help. Resetting the cache has no effect.
Of course, all my phone calls and messages are now shown with just numbers as contact list isn't available to resolve them.
