Why has my screen gone black and won't come back?

Why is my screen black and wont come back??????

I have a Samsung galaxy note 2 I charged it last night took it off the charger swiped the screen to turn it off and the screen has been black ever since even the 2 icon lights next to the home button will not light up PLEASE HELP!!!!! Taking the battery out for a while does nothing.

Welcome to the forums. Try pulling the battery for a few minutes and reboot.

Unfortunately, no. This may be a hardware failure.
