Download Folder Missing In Gallery- HELP

Since I've had my S5, when I would download a pic from the internet, I'd be able to go into my gallery, into a folder called "download" and edit, send them, etc. All of a sudden that folder just disappeared! I downloaded a pic just to check, and the pic IS on my phone (not SD card, I've never used one), but there's no way for me to access it in the gallery. I don't know what changed, and it's annoying!

Can anyone help?

Re: Download Folder Missing In Gallery- HELP

Welcome to Android Central! Use MyFiles or some other file manager app like ES File Explorer, and look inside the Download folder. Make sure there isn't a file called ".nomedia" there. .nomedia instructs the system to ignore that folder when scanning for image files. Delete it if you see it there.

I just looked using ES and couldn't find anything. I don't get it!

"anything" as in the "Download" named folder does not exist?

If it does not, then use the file manager to create a new one. But I find it hard to believe that it just simply got deleted as you can't delete a folder that has files in it. And, the Download folder is part of the Android System.

Re: Download Folder Missing In Gallery- HELP

The actual directory name is /storage/sdcard0/download (or /storage/emulated/0/download).

No I meant I used ES and looked all through my download folder. My pics and everything are there. There's no file that says no media.

Try going to the App Manager, select Gallery, and Force Stop, then Clear Cache/Clear Data. Don't worry about any warning messages--you won't lose your photos. When you open Gallery again, wait a few seconds for the image database to rebuild. See if it shows up now.

If that doesn't help, try wiping the cache partition, which also won't erase any personal data: Reset: Samsung Galaxy S 5 | T-Mobile Support

For anyone who still cant make the download shows up in gallery, try this, its worked like magic!
in my files, i renamed the download folder to "download_old" and create a new folder an rename to "download"
and then i moved all the image from "download_old" to "download", and foila! its showing up in the gallery.
