Why I chose a Nexus 4 over a Nexus 5.

It wont get LTE if it doesn't have LTE. They are never going to release an update that enables the LTE...only because the fact being even though it has the LTE radio it does not have the amplifier. The MOD community is the real reason the nexus 4 even has band 4 LTE. It was not Google's intentions. So to expect that google release an update enabling LTE would just never happen and be actually more of a problem due to the hardware limitations.

If 4.4 doesn't enable LTE then i wonder if its even worth it to add it to my N4 @ this point. Running 4.4 but having to use a radio prior to 4.3 in order to have limited LTE on my TM acct sounds like a downgrade to me. Im also really naive about flashing things to my phone and troubleshooting things if they dont work. I need this phone to be reliable.

That was one of my biggest flaws with the Nexus 4 as well! I am in a band and when I would have my wife record us on stage it the audio quality would just be terrible and give out...I just played last night indoors and had my new nexus 5 record it and I sounds like it was professionally recorded. The mic was able to even suppress background noise. I couldn't be happier.

Sorry for going off topic - I'm in a band also and we use a handheld Tascam recorder in live/rehearsal situations. For the price, you really can't go wrong!

Wow. I had to read the OP's post multiple times to make sure I was understanding correctly. I wish I cared so little about phones that i'd get a Nexus 4 over a Nexus 5 because of $40. I mean how is a full HD screen, larger screen, better camera, faster processor, and automatic 4.4 not worth $40???

The Nexus 4 is an AWESOME device and i'd kill to be able to trade my S3 to get one. But if I could tag on $40 to that for a Nexus 5 i'd be river dancing out of excitement.

No a savings is a savings. I'm glad your one of the smarter users who knows you may not "need" the newest device. However for me I would have personally spent the extra $40 only because it will have more support down the road from Google with updates. After another year Google may drop it like they did the Gnex but there is no way of really knowing. If your happy with the N4 then you my friend made the correct decision for you!

My thoughts exactly...hardly anyone even needs the cutting edge of a flagship, but nevertheless its still a luxury...but just not for me, I think more practical for everyday normal use.

Please tell me how I can send posts on here. I am a new user of a Nexus 4, just got it today and I need some help plz. Thanks

$300, for a phone that's getting long in the tooth? Makes no sense to me. Why not buy a used one for half that in a couple weeks? I assume one you bought is new under warranty.

Case in point GNEX. 18 months after release it isn't officially receiving 4.4. That being said nexus has an amazing development community but if it's your daily driver bugs may be a problem. All in all I'd say it's more to preference but if official updates are more to your taste the 5 would have been better.

Sorry, I do not understand your question, please rephrase...you have just posted your question so I'm not sure what you are referring too about posting.

Paying $300 for a nexus 4 today is just absurd now that I think about it...1 year ago for $50 dollars more you could of gotten brand new...You got a horrible deal. Even on Swappa.com there going for $200 in great condition...
