That's kind of "pseudo-resolution", because NTSC doesn't consist of discrete pixels. It doesn't matter whether it's being displayed on a CRT or a flat-screen display. ATSC - the current standard - played on an old CRT display [using an adapter] would still be 720P for a regular channel and 1080p for an HD channel. It just wouldn't look as sharp because the phosphor dots .on the CRT aren't as small.The old tube TVs had petty bad resolution, somewhere around 240p I think.
