Why is "chat bot" on my phone as a text messenger?

[Android Central Question]

I just bought a Nokia X100. It comes with an obscene additive that Google denies is there. Chat Bot it comes with its own contact list and populates it with Spam sources, it runs at will and will collect hundreds of SPAM daily. Nokia and TMobile claim it didn't come from them so who put the demon on my phone?

Does it still function in Safe Mode? https://www.hardreset.info/devices/nokia/nokia-x100/safe-mode/. If it doesn't, then you know it's a 3rd party app that either you installed or something else installed without your knowledge.

That sounds like a 3rd party app not something comes default on a device

It sounds like it's some kind of feature that will identify spam texts and engage accordingly (e.g., by replying to remove you from the list). That may be why it has its own contact list. To be honest, that sounds pretty useful.

I searched for it, and it doesn't seem to be the case. But it's also not clear from the OP if this is a standalone app, or if it's a component of the text messaging app they're using.
