Why is Incredible so different?

So far, EVO has been rooted and has a new flashlight app yet nothing for the Incredible. To be honest, I would just like the Flashlight app as it is the only thing I miss from my WinMo Samsung Omnia. Still, everytime I come here, there is a new android phone getting rooted yet no one can seem to do it to the Incredible? Why?

Verizon did a good job vetting this phone before release, so no vulnerable stuff laying around in the system. I have a feeling the moders are going to have to dig deep to root this one.

I think HTC also has a part in the difficulty of root due to them taking out files to use Sense UI only. This may have made things look funky imo.

It also may because the Evo was handed to the top developers in the nation for free at Google IO

so far, there hasn't been a phone that was unrootable (afaik)

give them time, root will come eventually. it took a long time to root the eris, but as unpopular (sales wise) as that phone was, it still got root.

as to htc not giving us a flashlight widget, that irks me too.

Basically...

Sprint left a big hole so finding an exploit to root was pretty easy. Verizon did a much better job securing the phone from root access. Darn them haha. I really only want root for wireless tethering. Sense is great and the phone is fast.
