Why is it everytime I plug in my earbuds to my Nextbook it starts playing music and messing up???

AC Question

Everytime I plug in my earbuds to my Nextbook tablet/computer music automatically and uncontrollably starts playing music and all of a sudden shuts off over and over even when I exit out of it?? It's a major pain, even more when I'm online searching or writing things then it messes with my searches or goes to something else and prevents me from typing even???

Welcome to Android Central! Did these earbuds come with the device, or did you have them before? If they didn't come with the device, then have you tried other earbuds? Some earbuds that have additional functions (like music playback controls) might not be universally compatible with all devices, and in fact might inadvertently trigger commands like Play or Pause. Alternatively, the tablet's headphone jack might have some debris in it that is causing these false commands to be sent, or the jack might be defective.

Try a pair of earbuds that are just plain earbuds, without any additional controls. If that doesn't work, then use a can of compressed air to blow out the headphone jack, or a damp toothpick to root around the jack for any debris.

The only headphones I can get to work are Bluetooth, I've tried dozens of headphones and they all do the same thing. I need to recharge my Bluetooth so what is the fix? The only option I have left is get rid of the next book, so is that what I should do?
