Why is my application manager crashing after I install a certain amount of apps?

So I have a Verizon Galaxy S6 running 6.0.1. I have recently run into a really weird problem that initially I thought was caused by tampering with some deeper settings using the app Greenify, but after uninstalling it, clearing all different sorts of caches, factory resetting the damn thing about 6 times, I have come to realize it's not any specific app, but rather, any app that crosses a certain threshold. I have almost 500 apps installed, and there is a certain point that once I install just one more, the application manager crashes continuously. Is there like a certain limit to the amount of applications the application manager can handle? I know it's not any one specific app, because I've uninstalled apps until the moment the crashing went away, then I would install any one app, sometimes even an app that has been running totally fine on the phone, and then it just crashed. This problem is driving me insane.

wow 500 apps? it could be there is a limit...
