Why is my battery life draining and why is it over heating (HTC One M7)?

why is my battery life draining and why is it over heating HTC one m7

I dropped my phone (HTC one m7) in the sink,grabbed it out quickly dried it and it still works but overheats and drains drasticly eg 10% every 5 mins also it will randomly die at like 70% then when I turn it on its at 10 to 5% I tried a lot of things like wipeing the cache and things but no luck anyone help?

Read Oh, no! My Phone got Wet!. It's probably too late for that phone, but you'll know better next time (with your next phone that you can remove the battery from).
