Why is my battery life draining so fast??

Hello guys! I have a rooted Lg g3 with a custom lollipop 5.0 and recently my battery drains really fast and the upper body of the phone is heated more than it should be i guess! in battery usage the android system and not the android OS consumes about 30% of the battery and i guess that is too much! does anyone know what i should do??

Welcome to the forums. Did you just update to 5.0, then root? Have you tried a reset?

Since you flashed a custom ROM, I would suggest a reset. Most ROM developers suggest doing so before running a new ROM.

By the term reset u mean the factory reset which is available through my phone's menu?? And i should do so with every custom ROM i flash??

Yes.

Yes. Every time. What happens is the framework is slightly different between ROMs, and you don't want that conflicting with how they operate.

So last question. And thanks for the advice and patience! I firstly flash the ROM as indicated by the developer and then reboot my phone and perform a factory reset?

You can flash and reset all in recovery. I would also wipe dalvik and system caches as well.
