Why is my calendar only syncing some things to my Windows Live Calendar?

Syncing the built-in calendar in Android phone to Windows Live Calendar

I have Galaxy S4 and Windows Live Calendar. I'd like to use the built-in Calendar in my Windows 8 laptop (which most people know it is accessible through outlook.com too).

I setup the phone calendar to sync with the outlook.com calendar successfully when I got the phone new last year. I added my live.com account. But a few months after, it stopped syncing. It's weird it syncs only the tasks but not the events.

I can even sync my contacts.

Can anybody tell me what went wrong?

Off-hand I would say the sync settings in the wildows live account on the s4 are no longer selected.

The other place to check would be the Splanner options for syncing (from splanner menu)

The standard calender app on the S4.

I don't have Splanner on my phone. That's probably the same as 'Calendar'. The only option available is 'sync' which does the actual syncing, and the 'calendars' which only shows the lists of the accounts.

Tap and hold the "windows live" account that you originally created to sync the windows live data. That should open a sub menu in the account itself where options are available to sync various types of data. perhaps there is an issue there.

to the best of my knowledge samsung calls it's calender "SPlanner" and that is how it shows up in the app manager and app drawer
