Why is my computer not synching with my cell?

When I open my e-mail on my cell, it does not show that e-mail on my computer. however, when I open my e-mail on my computer, it shows the e-mail on my cell. Why?

Is this a Google account or some other email account? How are you viewing your email on your computer? It's possible your mail client on your computer is downloading your email and removing it from the server rather than leaving it.
