why is my galaxy s3 battery draning rapidly

my phone isat 100% on charger. i unplug it and rapidly starts to drain with no use. it will drop by 8% in the first 5 minutes.

Welcome.
Being an S3, it has now been replaced by 3 more generations of devices.
The battery itself could be going.
I beleive the battery can be replaced in that model. Buy a new one, charge it up and see if that helps.
