Galaxy S3 Odd Charging Issue

A couple of months ago, I turned my phone off and plugged it in to the wall charger to charge overnight. When I awoke, The charge indicator on the off screen showed full charge. But upon turning the phone on, the charge meter only showed ~50%. I had issues after that where certain cables would work mixed with certain wall adapters. I could charge from a computer fine, but charging from an AC outlet either at home or work was not consistent and very slow. I bought a new battery and a new factory AC adapter and cable. They didn't work consistently, and the charge indicator would sometimes flash on and off sporadically, if it did anything at all. After this, none of the factory chargers work at all. Nor any of the cables, or mixtures of the two. I also tried the old battery again, with the same result. The only charger that will charge the phone now is an old LG STA-U34WVI. I also can't get a charge from either of the cigarette lighter adapters that I have. I'd like to find a solution, as I'm not sure how long this old LG charger will last. And, as of now, its the only unit that will charge this phone at all. Blowing potential dust out of the charge port did nothing either. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Re: Galaxy S3 Odd Charging Issue

Welcome to the forums!

Sounds like a pretty common problem with the micro-USB port. Some options are:
1. Purchase a wireless charging solution and bypass the micro-USB port altogether
2. Purchase a couple of batteries and an external charger (ex. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0097...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU4161261) and swap fully-charged batteries in whenever you need to
3. Get the micro-USB port replaced
