Why is my Galaxy S5 asking for a alt password?

[AC Question]

my galaxy s5 is asking for alt password

have it set up on fingerprint went to use today and can't get past the alt pw i never set an alt password??

I believe that it's not possible to set up the fingerprint lock without setting up the alternative password.

You set an alternative password when you set up your fingerprint. It's a necessary step in order to use fingerprint unlock.

That's correct. You must set an alternate password when doing the fingerprint scanner.

The scanner can be a bit finicky, keep trying and you should get it.

Hi i am using the S5 device.but i not use the fingerprint lock for the device.I think it is not good for the device.
