why is my Galaxy S6 not charging?

So I recently got this phone, its about two weeks old. I'm trying to charge it but nothing happens, I'm using the charger it came with. So when it is on it doesn't do anything when I plug it in but when it's off and I plug it in it shows the power signal but then turns off. I tried different wall plugs and wires and plugs but nothing happens at all.
Update: I just used a different wire and block. it's off, I'm afraid if I unplug it it will stop charging so I'm leaving it as is for now. I have T-mobile and they will make me pay a deductible and I'm not trying to do that on this new phone, help!

It's probably a defective connector. Try using a different charger/cable/plug. If not, then I'm afraid you need to take the phone to Samsung.
