Why is my google play store not working

I got a update on my alcatel one touch and now its not letting my internet connect and its saying check your connection and try again that i did and its doing the same thing

Sometimes this kind of problem is just temporary and maybe removing the Play Store from the most recent apps could be enough. Does it persists after a reboot? If no go you could clear cache for the Play Store in settings - apps, force stop and then reboot. Tell us how it goes.
