why is my home button not working

[Android Central Question]

Hey
So a while i tried to open my phone but home button didn't react. I could only unlock my phone only by fingerprint. I didn't mind at first but yesterday my phone stoped reacting. Confusing is that when someone calls me i can answer and when i hold home button longer i can see button exit. If someone knows what to do please help. Also sorry for possible mistakes english is not my native language.

What device do you have? This would be unusual for a device with a virtual button but if it's an older device with a physical button that very well can fail.

If it’s an iPhone with the older type of Home button, flood-clean the button judiciously with alcohol.
