Why is my LG G Flex making a Ticking sound?

[AC Question]

My LG G Flex makes a ticking sound when I hold down on the power on button. It won't charge. I have pictures on there but I don't know if I can get the pictures out of the phone when I won't turn on. I want to take out the battery and then put in a new one and hopefully it turns but I can't even open the back of the LG G Flex at all!

Welcome to Android Central! To be clear--the phone won't power on, and when you hold down the power button, all you hear is a ticking sound? I would guess that either the battery is dead or the motherboard is faulty. I'm not sure what else you can do besides bring it to a repair shop. You could start by asking them to test the battery and replace it if it's dead--that wouldn't wipe the phone. But if the battery is ok, then the motherboard would probably need to be replaced, and that would wipe out your data.
