Welcome to Android Central! Does that persist after a reboot? Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select LG Keyboard, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. Now try again.
If it keeps happening, try installing another keyboard from Google Play Store, like Google Keyboard or Swiftkey.
