My moto g 3rd gen getting hot after upgrade to marshmallow. What can i do now

Welcome to Android Central! Gets hot doing what? Are you actively using an app? Are you charging the phone while using it?

Show us screenshots of your battery stats. Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

I'm interested too. Same thing happening with mine. It get gets hot in my pocket which it didn't before. Biggest battery drain this morning was a WiFi app. Just uninstalled as I don't really want it anyway. I'll see how it goes and post screens above another time.

Update. Phone has cooled right down in the last hour since uninstalling WiFi Buddy. To be clear, I've only had this heating up problem since upgrading to marshmallow a couple of days ago. WiFi buddy has been installed for a few months.

Welcome to Android Central! It may be a specific bug in that app for Marshmallow on that phone. Send an email to the app's developer, so that they're aware.

This is one of the problems with the marshmallow update. If you search the Nexus 5x forum they've had this issue too. There maybe more info there. Search is your friend

Hi
For a while I had battery issues and phone heating up but for the past couple of days seems to have settled down
What I have done is got rid of 3rd party apps esp launchers and cleaners etc apart from a couple of hiccups it seems to be fine haven't even need to FR
I updated to Marshmallow aprox week ago

Good move. "RAM booster/cleaner" apps are generally useless, and can actually cause problems. It never hurts to get rid of them!
