Hi I'm using the android Moto Maxx 2 and recently I found out it wasn't charging. I have tried over 10 cords, outlets, portables, End pieces, and outlets, but nothing will work. Almost all signs indicate charging but it isn't. When shut down it indicates charging symbol, when online indicates battery charging on the top right, it disables battery saver too. Even looking in basically the bios (Hold Down Vol + Power when offline) it will tell me charging. BUT when I go to, Settings-->battery, it will say (2% Not Charging). So now I'm left with a basically dead phone that will not charge, its never done this before, and its only 1 year old.

Welcome to Android Central! The battery might have failed. Is the phone still under warranty? If not, then bring it to a repair shop and see if they can determine if it needs a new battery.

Update I've gotten to the shop and they said it probably will need a new battery or a fix on the battery port but it will cost me so I'd like to know before paying, if there is any other methods

If it's a battery or microUSB port issue, then there's nothing else you can do besides get it replaced. The only thing I'd suggest is to ask for greater clarity before they do the work -- can they specifically say if it's the battery vs. the port, or is it impossible to narrow down before the repair?

I'm unsure but last time they said unless I agree to pay for the inspection (which isn't much) then they wont be able to give me any info but if its the only resort then I guess I have to

Sorry -- the only other thing I can think of would be to open the phone up and test the battery yourself, but I'm not sure how involved that would be. There might be DIY videos on YouTube.
