Nexus 4 with Lollipop freezes daily

I bought my Nexus 4 when it was released and have had no problems. Since I upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop it now freezes or locks up while the screen is off, usually once every day or two. Pressing the power button quickly, or for 5 seconds has no effect. If I press it for around 10 seconds, and then a short press after that it begins booting. During the time it was frozen, the batter level indicates no battery was used, so it looks like it shut off.

Doing some searches, it looks like others have had this problem on the Nexus 4 even before Lillipop. Does anyone know if there is a fix from Google (5.0.1?) or LGE on this upcoming or is it time to buy a new phone. It's a shame because this device has been great for me.

Thanks for any ideas!

Re: Nexus 4 with Lollipop freezes daily

Have you tried clearing the system cache in recovery, or a reset?

There is a 5.0.1, but right now that is only for the Nexus 7 i believe.

I haven't tried that yet, but I've read that this did not help others with the problem. Even replacing the phone didn't work for anyone. I'm hoping 5.0.1 will fix it.

Re: Nexus 4 with Lollipop freezes daily

There's a really nasty bug going around for the nexus 7 (not sure for the nexus 4) but the bug takes up all your ram and your left with around 200 free mbs and when you open something that perhaps pushes this down, you get a frozen screen until, some ram is freed. An update should come soon, however, it's still unknown if it will fix the bug. (Probably will)
