Nexus 5 battery issues.....HELP!!!!!! 😡😤😡😤😡😤😡

I have a nexus 5, my girlfriend has a I phone 5s. We work together and use our phones the same amount on breaks. Today at the end of the work day we compared battery percentages. Hers was at 95% where as mine was down to 35%. Seriously this is getting rediculous, my screen is on low, I have stopped push emails, I turn off wifi and Bluetooth when leaving the house ( she doesn't which makes it worse) I have replaced the battery, I have wiped the catche...wha the hell is the issue? I recently moved from iphone to the nexus 5 and do not regret doing so other than the battery issue.

Can anyone help at all, 7 hours with minimal use is about all the dam things good for, I am sick of carrying a charger and watching what I do and how I use the phone, despite apples downfalls battery wasn't one of them for me ever as I don't use the phone heavily. Even Browseing the Internet for a hour in bed, it then it needs plugging in.......help......suggestions????

Thanks in advance

Hey I'm not sure what the problem is. I have a Nexus 5 as well but have never had such bad battery life. And trust me it's impossible, that your girlfriends battery stayed at 95% after a whole day. I'm pretty sure she charged it at some point. If you are not satisfied get the battery changed or try doing a factory reset.

Keep in mind that the devices are different and handle apps and processes differently.

Could you post a screen shot of the battery stats after a full charge and a days worth of use? Give us the battery graph, and screen on time information. That'll help us see if anything is creating wake locks, preventing the device from sleeping, which could explain rapid battery drain.

When I say a full day this was from 9am to 4pm, I was with her the whole time as like I say we work together and she definitely didn't charge it and couldn't of done as there is no power on site yet (I have her building with me, lovely boyfriend ) .Although quite similar on paper I can say from experience for what ever reason iPhone 4s and 5s far out perform the nexus 5 in regards to battery life which is amazingly flustrateing as my nexus is the best phone I have had but the battery issue is horrendous

I suggest you follow this advice...start with the stats!

Cheers for that, took a few screen shots at full charge, just waiting for the inevitable death of my battery

Re: Nexus 5 battery issues.....HELP!!!!!! 😡😤😡😤😡😤😡

If her battery is at 95% after a days work then she ain't using it that much or don't have a lot of apps with push notifications. I've owned a lot of iPhones and the battery ain't THAT good.

The Nexus brand is notorious for below average battery life though. It depends on a lot of factors however, hell it even depends on carrier signal strength. But yes the battery graph will help us help you.

ya no way her phone was at 95% lol i have had a iphone and witthout even touching it for 8 hours my battery was at 90% so like some people said it could be the less active and few apps she has compared to you and perhaps your using it more than her?

Re: Nexus 5 battery issues.....HELP!!!!!! 😡😤😡😤😡😤😡

She has 60 apps, that includes all the stock ones like safari ect ect, I have 54. Don't know if this is of any help?
I was at a wedding yesterday so literally barely touched my phone other than turning it off for the service, no pictures no nothing as the camera isn't the best on the nexus. Here is my data at full charge then this morning at 25%, I have the screen really low as well

The first think that I can notice and I'm not an expert is that you don't have a signal at your phone, that its a lot of battery, you can either find a place at night or if you don't care air plane mode, also at night when I'm sleeping I use battery save mode

Re: Nexus 5 battery issues.....HELP!!!!!! 😡😤😡😤😡😤😡

That battery life is pretty typical for the Nexus 5. It's always been the primary weak spot of an otherwise great phone. I typically get at most 3 hours of total screen-on time on one charge (that's an extrapolated figure--I typically don't let the battery run down to zero). This is why having multiple wireless chargers at home and at work is a nice addition to the phone--when you're not using it, just put it on the charging pad.

Some describe a significant improvement in battery life with a factory reset after the Lollipop update (as opposed to doing the system update and never doing a full factory reset). I might try that soon, just to see.

Re: Nexus 5 battery issues.....HELP!!!!!! 😡😤😡😤😡😤😡

Buy a new battery and change it following a YouTube video or send it in to your service provider to do it. I had similar issues, but I guess it's just the lifespan of the Nexus battery. Most batteries don't last longer than 2 years. So chances are that the battery's lifespan was coming to an end. Ever since I changed my battery (1 week ago) - It's back to being awesome again. After 12 hours (7am - 7pm) the battery is still at 72%. And that's with bbm, whatsapp, push emails, twitter, facebook, music playback, etc. Replace the battery, you don't have anything to lose - they're not expensive either.

Cheers for the advice but I have tried this approach, there was dedicatedly a very noticeable improvement but battery performance is still very poor.I even tried looking at buying a bigger battery but there isn't one available

Hi amanalki
It seems the signal strength is affecting you battery life. It's true that the device doesn't have a great battery in general, but looking at those statistics (check the mobile network signal) I would say the signal is draining your battery.

Have you tried changing default mobile network to 3g? Maybe that could help so it doesn't stay awake looking for signal. You can check that in settings, wireless and networks, mobile networks.

Hope you find a solution
