Why is my Nexus 7 taking so long to charge?

My Nexus seems take about 12 hours to charge from 0 to full(100), should I get a new charger or is it the tablet faulty/too old ?

Yes, even got another brand new one and still got the same problem

Had the same problem. Don't know if this is a solution for you but worth a try. After several chargings, the place in which I insert the cable lost its ability to hold snugly. Same turned out to be true for the ASUS cable and charger that came with Nexus. Before I figured out what the problem was, I'd have to jiggle everything to get any charge at all and then keep holding it to get any charge at all. Pain in the neck. I got a new cable from monoprice and new charger from New Trent that fit snugly into each other and the Nexus. Voila charging again.
