Why is my phone being controlled if there's no virus?

My ZTE grand max 2 is being controlled by google now app. It keeps turing my volume up and down by itself and keeps taking me to the Google app. It answers phone call when someone calls, and it keeps turning on my music at full volume. My security app says there's no virus and I've downloaded other security apps they say the same thing. I can't disable the app and factory resetting is not helping either. Please help because I had this very same issue with my other phone a few months back.

Hello and welcome to Android Central. My guess would be a rogue app, but if you performed a factory reset, that's not likely. My other thought is your phone may be overheating. Besides this rogue behavior, does the phone perform well? Let me know.
