Android Central Question

I have a Samsung S20+, when i am on call either Whatsapp or normal call, using my earphones or on loudspeaker, as soon as the screen goes to sleep, i get cut off from the call until i tap the screen back to life again. This defeats the purpose of a hands free option as i have to keep an eye on the screen. Its very frustrating that my phone is not doing the basic function. Does anyone else experience this issue? I have tried many settings to try and fix this and have also spoken to Samsung. Any help is greatly appreciated

Welcome to Android Central! I can understand this happening with WhatsApp if the system is aggressively killing apps when the screen goes idle in a misguided attempt to save battery. But it shouldn't happen with the stock Phone app.

Any power-saving modes turned on, or 3rd party battery-saver apps installed?
